International Spouse Orientation

The Spouse Orientation is intended for spouses of international students and scholars at UC Davis. Whether you are a newly arrived or ‘returning’ spouse, please join us on October 2nd. If you are planning to attend, please email Virag Nikolics at vnikolics@ucdavis.edu to confirm your attendance and indicate if you are planning to bring your child/children (include their age). We look forward to meeting you on October 2nd! If you are interested in volunteering at this event, please complete a volunteer form and email it to Alice Rhee at awrhee@ucdavis.edu

SPOUSE ORIENTATION SCHEDULE

October 2, 1-4 p.m

International House, 10 College Park, Davis

1:00-1:20

Services for International Students and Scholars (SISS) Director and staff welcome spouses.

1:20-1:40

International House: Information on I-House programs, volunteer opportunities, and volunteerism in the U.S.

1:40-2:00

Davis Adult School: Overview of adult school classes & application process.

2:00-2:30

Immigration Information: SISS staff will provide information about your immigration status (e.g. employment, change of status, etc.).

2:30-2:45

BREAK

2:45-3:15

The International Parent-Child Learning Center: Program director will provide information on the preschool where parents take part in the early education of their child.

3:15-4:00

UC Davis Childcare and Family Services: Information will be provided on the following topics: campus resources available to spouses, childcare information, work life program, housing options and the school system in the U.S.
