For International Undergraduate Students
(both freshmen and transfer, you do not have to have taken the fall course)

International students may register for one 2-unit P/NP seminar each quarter of their first year at UC Davis. This course is offered by the School of Education and co-sponsored by Services for International Students and Scholars (SISS), a unit of Global Affairs, and it will give new international students the tools to succeed in their first year at UC Davis!

EDU 98: For new international frehsmen students
EDU 198: For new international transfer students

Students will study and discuss the issues that challenge all of us and explore your interests, both academically and personally. We will focus on further developing important student skills, including:

  • Learn about the American employment process and graduate schoolsdo basic research, group projects, and presentations
  • Create a resume, application and cover letter; practice interviews
  • Learn how to find and apply for volunteer opportunities, internships and on-campus jobs

Small class size (20 students per section) with a focus on student interaction and activities!
✓ Special Library hours just for this class
✓ 2 units of P/NP course credit
✓ Lots of individual attention in office hours; introduction to campus resources
✓ No pre-requisites
