Arrival Checklist

Overview

Once you have been admitted, you will work with many departments on campus to meet all the requirements necessary to study here at UC Davis.

Please use this Arrival Checklist to meet SISS requirements, which are mandatory for you to maintain your lawful immigration status while you are in the U.S.

1. Get your University ID Card

Your Student AggieCard is your official UC Davis identification; giving you access to the many available products, services, resources, and benefits available to you as a UC Davis student.

2.  Check the Information on Your Electronic I-94 Record

Each time you enter the United States, download your I-94 record from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Make sure that form I-94 reflects your correct student status and shows D/S.

If you have problems accessing your I-94 travel record, or if the information is incorrect, contact SISS.

Canadian Students must show their passport and I-20 or DS-2019 document to a CBP officer at the port of entry. They must also make sure they are going through the correct lane, not the tourist/automated kiosk lane.

3. SISS Check-In

Upon arrival, complete your mandatory SISS Check-In to maintain your lawful status. Please note: SISS will use your UC Davis email address for information on the options available to complete this requirement. You must check this e-mail account (or set up a forwarding option to your personal e-mail) for this information.

4. Complete Orientation Requirements

All students must complete all required orientations (your college or department may require additional orientations). Join SISS for Global Aggies Welcome Week, and, for UCEAP students, attend Reciprocity Orientation

5. Read the International Guide

The International Guide is your guide to living and learning at the University of California, Davis. Find great tips and information to make your transition into university life in the U.S. a smooth one.

6. Complete Online Arrival Orientation

All new initial and transfer undergraduate and graduate F-1 and J-1 students at UC Davis are required to complete an online Arrival Orientation in Homebase. Arrival Orientation is designed to help solidify your understanding of immigration regulations and UC Davis institutional policy so that you can successfully manage your immigration and academic status.

Arrival Orientation will be available 30 days before the start of classes as part of the Student Check-in process in iGlobal. You will be able to complete this requirement any time, but no later than the 30th day of class.
