Travel Announcement: Novel Coronavirus

Travelers from Wuhan (or those who transited through Wuhan) and possibly other cities in China should expect health screenings as they enter other countries. Health screenings might include temperature monitoring and symptom questionnaires. Travelers with symptoms (fever, cough, or difficulty breathing) will likely have an additional health assessment.

Changing government rules regarding the definition of persons considered a “public charge” have created much uncertainty among our international community. We hope that the following summary will provide you with an introduction to this issue.  

International Student Academic Unit Requirements

F1 international students must be registered in at least 12 units each term and nine of those units require physical attendance in a classroom. J1 international students must be registered in at least 12 units (by the 12th day of class) each term and all 12 of those units require physical attendance in the classroom

Response to tragedy in New Zealand

We join with the rest of the world in mourning the tragedy of the recent terrorism in Christchurch, New Zealand. We are saddened by all acts of senseless violence against innocent and defenseless people because of their faith or religious identity. At UC Davis we are committed to diversity, kindness, compassion, being a home for those who share these values, and a refuge for those who need it. These values cannot and will not be shaken by this attack. 

UC Davis Police Department Fraud Advisory Alert

Please be aware, over the course of last several days there has been an increase in fraudulent activity involving our students. The scams include phone calls from foreign consulates or governments threatening to arrest them if they don’t wire monies or send gift cards.

Campus Closed Through Thanksgiving Break

As announced by UC Davis, both the Davis and Sacramento campuses are closed Monday, November 19 through the Thanksgiving break. The campuses will reopen and classes will resume on Monday, November 26.
