Overview
The Global Ambassador Mentorship Program matches first-year undergraduate international students (mentees) with a current undergraduate student (mentor fellow). Matches are based on similar academic and social interests.

Global Ambassador Mentor Fellows represent the diverse student community on campus—both domestic and international, from different academic years and fields of study, and with varied life experiences. They can help you learn about clubs, campus resources, and academic support services. You can ask your mentor about student life at UC Davis and the United States before you arrive!
Time Commitment
As a mentee, you get to decide how often you want to connect with your mentor. You can also let your mentor know your preferred messaging platform, so you can easily ask questions and stay connected. Mentors try to meet up with their mentees in person at least once a month, but you can decide what works best for you with your mentor.
Events and Activities
The Global Ambassador Mentorship Program is also a great way to meet other students and make new friends! Mentors host fun social events throughout the year! Events are open to all undergraduate students, so you can always bring a friend.
Social activities and events have included:
- Holiday parties such as Halloween, Lunar New Year, and Valentine’s Day
- Study sessions with fellow mentors and mentees in your major
- Language learning and cultural exchange
- Exploring the UC Davis Arboretum
- Working out at the Athletic and Recreation Center (ARC)
- Professional development opportunities and career fairs
- Hanging out in downtown Davis at Farmers Market, a favorite Boba spot or cafe
