What is a Global Ambassador 'Mentee'?
The Global Ambassador Mentorship Program matches first-year and transfer international undergraduate students with a student mentor to help them adjust to life at UC Davis. As a mentee, you can ask your mentor about student life at UC Davis and the United States, as well as resources and fun events, and have someone you know before you arrive on campus. Mentors are not just mentors but also hope you can get to know one another and build a friendship through cultural exchange. Most of all, your mentor hopes to walk alongside you as a fellow student and help you make the most of your first year at UC Davis.
The Global Ambassador Mentor Program is also a great way to meet other students and make new friends! Mentors host fun social events throughout the year, so join them! Events are open to all, so you can always bring a friend.
Social activities and events have included:
- Group dinners downtown
- Karaoke and game nights
- Language learning and exchange
- Holiday parties such as Halloween, Lunar New Year, and Valentine’s Day
- Study sessions
- Farmers Market
