Overview
There are multiple ways to get around campus and the city, as well as throughout the state. We have included basic information about obtaining a California Driver License or California ID Card, parking on UC Davis campus or using intercampus shuttles and getting to and from the airport.
Airport Transportation
UC Davis is located near two international airports: Sacramento International (SMF) and San Francisco International (SFO). Depending on where you are coming from, you will likely fly into one of these airports and then take ground transportation to Davis or Sacramento.
Driver's License & Car Insurance
It is important for you to carry some form of personal identification (ID) which includes your photograph, name, address, and date of birth. There are two types of ID's available to you from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV): the California Identification Card and the California Driver's License.

As a UC Davis student or scholar, you have multiple resources available to you to address your travel needs. Here is a list of ways you can rent or purchase bicycles, bus tickets, ride-sharing services, and parking permits, and how you can take advantage of the free travel services offered to you by Unitrans and the UC Davis Police department.
