Housing Resources for New Students

All students coming to the US to study on an I-20 or DS-2019 can enter the United States up to 30 days before their start date for their program listed on these documents.  We strongly recommend that students take advantage of this early arrival option so that they have enough time to recover from jetlag, become familiar with the campus and community, and finalize their housing before completing the mandatory Immigration Check-In and SISS Orientation.

When You First Arrive

Many students stay in a hotel or find temporary housing while searching for permanent housing or waiting for a move-in date.

Contact the  Student Housing office (530) 752-2033 or studenthousing@ucdavis.edu) to learn more about on-campus housing.  First-year undergraduates have priority for the on-campus residence halls and student families with children have first priority in family apartments. Space is limited and assigned in the order that applications are received.
