A Message from Global Affairs to Our UC Davis Lebanese Community

Dear UC Davis Lebanese community,

In the wake of yesterday’s devastating explosion in Beirut, Lebanon, we extend our deepest condolences to our Lebanese students, scholars, faculty, staff, partners and all those affected by this tragedy. We join the world in mourning for the victims and our hearts are heavy for all those affected by this catastrophe.

We are here to support our UC Davis Lebanese community. There are resources on campus available to students, scholars, faculty, and staff experiencing stress related to this tragedy:

For Students: You may contact Affaf Waseem, director for Middle Eastern, North African, and South Asian Student Resources in the Student Community Center, at awaseem@ucdavis.edu, with any questions or concerns, or if you need someone to talk to. For Scholars, Faculty, and Staff: The Academic and Staff Assistance Program (ASAP) offers confidential, cost-free assessment, counseling, consultation and referral services to all UC Davis and UC Davis Health faculty, staff and families.
